It's been *days* and he *still* hasn't found anything out. Mostly because Alfred won't let him go anywhere fun to investigate.
Today, they are visiting Dr. Thompkins' clinic. Bruce is helping out, hoping to find some clues, but so far all he's found is screaming babies and weird old men who smell funny. He's in Dr. Thompkins' office now, sitting in a chair and trying to find clues.
"Hello, Bruce." Dr. Thompkins has just come around a corner and spotted him trying to read the papers on her desk upside down. "How are you?"
"I'm ok." He didn't tell her about the chicken pox, because she won't understand. She doesn't see Mite, either, so he figures she wouldn't believe him if he told her about Milliways.
"That's good. What are you looking for?"
"Clues. I'm trying to solve a mystery."
"Oooh, a mystery." She looks interested, but not quite believing. "What kind of mystery?"
"The secret kind." Bruce isn't telling.
"That's too bad. Otherwise I could help you with it." She walks around to her chair and sits. "I guess I'll just have to tell you a funny story."
Bruce sits up and pays attention.
"There was a lady who came in the other day with a squid on her head."
"Squid?" Bruce's eyes are wide. It's a *clue*!
"Yup. A squid. Not only that, but she said the strangest thing."
"What? What did she say?"
"She said she had to go visit an invisble hairdresser. Isn't that strange?"
Bruce nods and smiles like she expects him to, but secretly he's repeating the clue over and over.
She smiles back and then looks down at her papers. "All right, you go run along to Alfred. Thank you for helping."
"You're welcome," Bruce calls as he bolts out the door. A clue!
